"Then
Jesus entered and passed
through Jericho. Now
behold, there was a
man named Zacchaeus
who was a chief tax
collector, and he was
rich. And he sought
to see who Jesus was,
but could not because
of the crowd, for he
was of short stature.
So he ran ahead and
climbed up into a sycamore
tree to see Him for
He was going to pass
that way.
And
when Jesus came to the
place, He looked up
and saw him, and said
to him, "Zacchaeus,
make haste and come
down, for today I must
stay in your house."
So
he made haste and came
down, and received Him
joyfully. But when they
saw it, they all complained,
saying, "He has
gone to be a guest with
a man who is a sinner"."
(Luke 19:1-7)
THERE'S
A LITTLE ZACCHAEUS IN
ALL OF US
After
reading this story all
I can say is thank You!
(Not because I am vertically
challenged like Zacchaeus).
Thank You Lord for seeing
me in my sin and drawing
me to yourself, beckoning
me forward, thank You
for knocking on the
door to my heart so
I could invite You in
to my life (see Revelation
3:20).
Zacchaeus
was a chief tax collector
and was very rich. He
was a Jew working for
the Romans to take money
from his own countrymen,
he was rich off his
own people and they
hated him. What they
failed to recognize
was that God doesn't
measure the degree of
sin. He won't be touched
by any sin so we all
fall into the sin category
(see Romans 3:23 and
6:23).
Don't
judge the next guy,
realize your need and
receive what Jesus has
to offer.
Rejoice
in the Lord Always!
