"This
is the Word of the Lord
to Zerubbabel: 'Not
by might nor by power,
but by My Spirit,' says
the Lord of hosts."
(Zechariah 4:6)
SOAR
ON EAGLES WINGS
When
eagles in the wild are
migrating they follow
complex patterns when
moving from region to
region. During flight
they minimize the effort
required for flying
by riding on thermals.
These are column of
rising warm air and
have average speeds
of 30mph. The eagle
glides to a high altitude
by circling through
the thermal which gradually
pushes the bird upward.
Once the eagle is high
enough it will leave
the thermal and glide
through the air in a
slow descent until it
can find another rising
column of air, which
it will then use once
again to rise up. Eagles
will jump from thermal
to thermal for most
of their journey.
When
a person receives Christ
they are indwelt by
the Holy Spirit of God.
Yet even with God living
in us we act like the
eagle, jumping from
one Holy Spirit Thermal
to another, trying to
do what we can on our
own until we became
so low we had to find
another column of rising
Holy Spirit to take
us to a higher level.
We
need to realize that
the Christian walk is
a life long journey,
that God has proved
His Spirit to be with
us every second, we
can move in His power
with every step, but
like all that God has
done, He allow us to
make the choice because
that is what love is
to us, a choice.
I
hope as I get older
I will choose to soar
with God.
Rejoice
in the Lord Always!
