"Fig
trees may not grow figs,
and there may be no
grapes on the vines.
There may be no olives
growing and no food
growing in the fields.
There may be no sheep
in the pens and no cattle
in the barns. But I
will still be glad in
the Lord."
(Habakkuk 3:17-18 NCV)
SHALL
WE ONLY ACCEPT GOOD
AND NOT ADVERSITY
Things
are going great and
God is good and worthy
to be praised...then
from no fault of your
own life turns south
and trouble becomes
your middle name. Has
God all of the sudden
fallen out of favour
with you?
Maybe
you've been in a valley
for a long, long time,
life doesn't change,
in fact yo get used
to mediocrity, even
dysfunctional living.
You
might be entertaining
the thought that God
is punishing you and
that you are the total
exception to His promise
of abundant living.
When
I first became a Christian
I remember reading a
witness track that stresses
that we don't live our
lives where we allow
our feelings to drive
us rather than the fact
of the promises of God's
Word. The Christian
who lives by faith (trust)
in the trustworthiness
of God Himself and His
Word will live a life
of stability and an
even keel. If we go
by our feelings we are
easily swayed and pulled
by everything but the
truth and the devil
delights in those who
live by their feelings
because we have just
made his job a whole
lot easier to turn us
away from the true Lover
of our souls.
Life
will be hard, God never
promised you a rose
garden. The garden was
made off limits when
Adam and Eve disobeyed
God. Through Christ
we are redeemed, we
are justified and made
right with God, through
Christ we make peace
with God, but I can
guarantee us that life
will throw us curves
while we are on this
side of eternity. He
promises to work all
things out for the good
of those who love Him
and are called according
to His purpose..
Persevere
my friend, GOD IS GOOD.
Rejoice
in the Lord Always!
