"And
this is love: that we
walk in obedience to
His commands. As you
have heard from the
beginning, His command
is that you walk in
love."
(2 John 6)
I'M
NOT SAYING ANYTHING
BUT
When
giving blood the nurses
stress that you take
is easy the rest of
the day, no heavy lifting,
no workouts. I learned
the hard way as my pride
boasted I would run
later that day.
"I'm
telling you what you
need to do, if you go
out and run and fall
and crack your head,
it's out of my hands."
The nurse was blunt
with the truth and I
smirked but decided
to heed her words
Unfortunately
the next time I went
I decided I didn't need
to sit for the 15 minutes
drinking some juice
and eating little cookies.
I snuck out immediately
after donating, the
nurse tackled me down
the hall and asked where
I was going. "I'm
okay." I answered.
"Are you sure?"
was her concern and
I nodded, showed her
my apple and continued
my walk out.
As
I took the escalator
to my car, I looked
down and noticed blood
everywhere, my arm,
jeans, on the escalator.
I didn't wait long enough
for the vein to seal
back up and it was gushing
blood. I hastily applied
pressure and instead
of going back to the
blood clinic, I slunk
to the mall washroom,
closed myself in a stall
and cleaned myself up
and sat the 15 minutes
on a public toilet.
I sheepishly headed
home having learned
that to obey is for
my own good. From then
on I sit and eat the
little cookies they
provide and sip my juice
and just shut up.
What
does Jesus ask us to
do, obey Him by walking
in love,. His commands
are not burdensome,
they are for our own
good and His glory.
Rejoice
in the Lord Always!
